@media.device-width

Deprecated
This feature has been removed from the Web standards. Though some browsers may still support it, it is in the process of being dropped. Avoid using it and update existing code if possible; see the compatibility table at the bottom of this page to guide your decision. Be aware that this feature may cease to work at any time.

The device-width CSS @media media feature can be used to apply styles based on the width of the rendering surface of the output device.

Syntax

The device-width feature is specified as a <length> value. It is a range feature, meaning that you can also use the prefixed min-device-width and max-device-width variants to query minimum and maximum values, respectively.

Example

This HTML applies a special stylesheet for devices that are narrower than 800 pixels.

<link rel="stylesheet" media="screen and (max-device-width: 799px)" href="http://foo.bar.com/narrow-styles.css" />
